10 Percent British Kids Have Had Sexually Explicit Online Chat
A recent poll carried out on 6000 UK adults and children revealed some upsetting results, with 10 percent of British kids claiming to have had sexually explicit chat on the internet.
The study also revealed that about 25 percent of youngsters, aged between 11 and 18, have visited adult websites and same number of children interacted with strangers online and about 10 percent of them have met those strangers.
On the other hand the parents are sometimes not aware of what their children are doing online as most of the time, their children lie about surfing the net.
Interestingly, about 90 percent of parents claimed that they are aware of what their children are doing online and they are confident that their children won’t do anything against their permission.
According to TV Psychologist, Dr. Tanya Byron, “The results are very surprising and we must learn and teach, how to be safe online.”
